Don't Wait to Get the Help You Need

Welcome to Gift of Therapy!

Are you concerned about your child?

Does your child seem sad, angry, anxious, withdrawn, or all over the place?

Is your child displaying behavior problems or having a hard time communicating and managing emotions?

Has your child been through a very difficult experience and is having trouble making sense of it?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions then you have come to the right place!

As a parent or guardian, you may struggle with wanting to protect your child while also wanting to provide your child with the appropriate tools to become a successful adult. Parenting is not easy. Being a child is not easy as well. Whether they are learning how to make friends in elementary school or learning how to navigate their teenage years, children and adolescents will face many situations that will challenge their beliefs about themselves, others, and the world. Having an adult they can go to for support is key.

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."
- Fred Rogers

About Dr. Gift McDougal

Hello! My name is Dr. Gift McDougal. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Georgia. I was born in Nigeria and was raised in Georgia. I have always had a passion for working with children of all ages. I view the child as part of a system (family, school, community) and when we address the system as a whole then greater healing and change can happen. Providing a child and adolescent a safe space to explore their issues is very important to me. I value family, community, spirituality, and interacting with individuals from various backgrounds and cultures. I love spending time with my husband, our 3 children, and our family dog. Writing, watching musicals, and engaging in DIY projects are other activities I enjoy.
